How to Connect Roku with a Wired Connection

Find the MAC Address

To use the Roku, you will need the MAC address.

  1. Open the Roku app on your mobile device.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select About.
  4. MAC Address will be listed there.
  5. You can also find the MAC Address on the bottom or back of your Roku.
  6. Add the device in MyDevices.

Register the Device

  1. As of August 15, 2024, if you are a residence hall resident, visit reshalldevices.shsu.edu. All others visit mydevices.shsu.edu.
  2. Sign in with your SHSU username and password if prompted.
  3. Scroll through the Acceptable Use policy and select I Agree.

  4. On the Residence Hall Devices or My Devices screen, select Add.

  5. On the Add Device screen, fill in the fields and select Submit.

  6. Your device is added to Residence Hall Devices or My Devices.

Connect the Device to the Network

  1. Connect an Ethernet adapter to the Roku then connect the network cable to the Ethernet port of the compatible adapter.
  2. Select Home on the remote.
  3. Scroll and select Settings.
  4. Select Network.
  5. Select Set up connection.
  6. Choose Wired.
  7. When selecting Wired, the device will automatically connect to the network and the internet.
