Software and devices used at SHSU, whether purchased or free, must be reviewed by IT to ensure compatibility, support, and adherence to compliance. Laws and regulations technology must comply with Prohibited Technology Legislation, TAC 202, TX-RAMP, TAC 213 and Section 508.

Know what you want?

If you know what you want, check out the Product Catalog, which lists campus-approved software and devices. Follow the directions in the Product Catalog to acquire your technology.

If your product is not in the product catalog for how you intend to use it, you must submit a request for IT approval.

Request IT Approval

To acquire a product that's not in the product catalog, you must complete the Technology Acquisition Request Form prior to acquiring or renewing.

Submit your request at least 90 days prior to your acquisition or renewal date.

When approved, you will receive a Technology Acquisition Approval Form (TAAF) to attach to your BearkatBuy requisition.

Procurement

Procure your technology according to university procurement policies and procedures.

Attach your TAAF to your BearKatBuy requisition.

Deployment

Once procurement is complete, work with IT to receive and begin using your technology.
