Banner - User Account Unlock / Web Access Disabled

Summary

Use the following tools to determine whether a user's SHSU account or a user's banner account has been locked. A user's account may get locked for trying too many times or having multiple windows open accessing Banner SSB or Banner Administrative Applications.

All Service Desk staff have access to the Banner Account Status program (https://samweb.shsu.edu/acct13wp/) which allows you to see if someone is locked out of Banner Self-Service under the SSB section or Banner INB under the INB section (usually only Faculty or Staff).

SELF SERVICE - SSB 

TO UNLOCK SSB

  • Send the user a Duo Push through the Admin Portal. Once the client approves it use the Account Unlock Utility to unlock them (https://samweb.shsu.edu/acct10wp/) .

ADMINISTRATIVE APPS

TO UNLOCK Administrative Apps

  • Place a ticket to have a Database Administrator unlock the account.  Once the ticket is placed, post in the chat room to have a FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE escalate the ticket.  The FTE will use the Escalation One-Step to email dba-group@shsu.edu to escalate.
