Kaltura Capture - Download and Install

Kaltura Capture is the desktop application used to record screen, webcam, and audio content and upload it directly to My Media in Blackboard.

It is available for download only from Blackboard. It does not require Administrator to install, and must be installed by the individual user on any computer they wish to use it on.

Overview

Kaltura Media provides students and faculty with tools to create, upload, and manage video content directly within Blackboard. Kaltura integrates with common Blackboard tools such as Assignments, Discussions, Blogs, and Journals.

Important

• Kaltura Capture must be installed per user, per computer
• The application does NOT require administrative credentials to install
• The first launch must be initiated from Blackboard
• Kaltura Capture is not available from public app stores and must be downloaded from Blackboard

 

Downloading Kaltura Capture

1. Open a browser and go to shsu.blackboard.com
2. Select MySam Login

 

 

3. Once signed in, select Tools on the left side of the window.

 

4. Select Kaltura My Media

 

 

5. Select Add New > Kaltura Capture

 

6. Click Download for Windows or Download for Mac for the installer for the OU needed. ** This does not require administrator credentials**

 

 

Installing Kaltura Capture

1. Run the installer to being the installation.

 

 

2. Verify the installation location and click Next

 

 

3. Install the application, click Install

 

 

4. Complete the installation, click Finish
