Overview
BlueZone is software that allows people to connect to the Comptroller's office in Austin to update records. The software is only installed for clients in Payroll, Disbursements, Controller, HR, and Budget.
Instructions
- Access the BlueZone Login Page:
- Sign In:
- On the login page, you will see the option to sign in.
- Enter your credentials for the Comptroller’s log in page
- If they don't have that information, have them check their email inbox and locate an email from Denise Holly that should contain the login information .
- Access BlueZone:
- After signing in, you will be directed to the BlueZone homepage.
- Look for the option labeled "Free version of BlueZone" and click on it.
- Navigate to Web-to-Host Launch:
- On the next screen, scroll down and find the option labeled "BlueZone Web-to-Host Launch page".
- Click on this link to proceed.
- Install BlueZone:
- After clicking the link, you will be directed to the installation screen.
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions carefully.
- Important: Move the initial installer file, “Open Web Launch”, to the C:\Temp folder.
- Then, move the “BlueZone Launch File” to the Desktop for easy access.
- Launch BlueZone:
- Once the installation steps are complete, open BlueZone.
- The BlueZone interface should resemble the image below.
Updating BlueZone
- Log in to the Comptroller's Website:
- User should log in to the Comptroller's website to access the download files for the update.
- Note: If the user does not have login credentials, contact Donna Slott, Assistant Controller, for login information.
- Run the EZCleaner and Install Files:
- Follow the steps listed on the provided website by first running EZCleaner. When it opens, click Yes (do not deselect any checkbox options).
- Then, run open.exe and open the Launch folders.

Troubleshooting
Are you experiencing issues after a recent profile reset?
If so, contact the Service Desk for them to perform the following:
- Uninstall BlueZone:
- Go to the Control Panel and uninstall the following applications:
- Comptroller Blue Zone Session Manager
- BlueZone Secure FTP
- Reinstall BlueZone:
- Follow the installation instructions provided above to reinstall BlueZone.
Are you receiving a Error: Web-to-Host Control - Error 5 or receiving a black background (Texas logo missing)?
If so, contact the Service Desk for them to perform the following:
- Uninstall BlueZone:
- Use the EZCleaner tool available on the website to uninstall BlueZone.
- Complete a Local Profile Reset:
- Verify user is on a good profile.
- Perform a local profile reset to resolve the error.
