Our Computer Accounts service provides comprehensive support for managing and securing your computer accounts. We offer a range of services to address common account-related issues and ensure a seamless user experience. Specific service offerings include:
Compromised Accounts: Support for addressing and recovering from account breaches, ensuring your account is secure.
Password Reset: Assistance with resetting forgotten or compromised passwords.
Account Activation: Guidance for activating new accounts or reactivating suspended accounts.
Usernames: Help with creating, changing, or troubleshooting usernames.
Email: Support for managing and troubleshooting your main email account, including setting up, maintaining, and securing it.
Email Alias: Assistance with creating and managing email aliases, allowing you to have up to 3 email addresses linked to your primary account for better organization and privacy.
General Account Inquiries: Assistance with any other account-related questions or issues you may have.
Availability
Computer Accounts are available to all university employees, students, retirees, or alumni of SHSU. Based on your role, you will have specific access:
Employees: MySam, SamWeb, Email (100GB), Email Alias (up to 3), Library Databases, S Drive, Adobe Creative Cloud
Students: MySam, SamWeb, Email (100GB), Email Alias, Library Databases, S Drive
Retirees: MySam, SamWeb, Email (50GB), Email Alias, Library Databases,
Alumni: MySam, SamWeb, Email (50GB),
How to Acquire
Once an individual is accepted as a student or hired and all paperwork has been processed they are eligible for an account. An email will be sent within 24 hrs to the email address provided on their applications.
An email account is activated with your computer account. It will be in the format of abc123@shsu.edu. To access your email, enter your SHSU email and computer account password at https://outlook.office.com/ .
Users can manage their account at https://account.shsu.edu/ .
